Health Benefits of Almond Oil

Almonds are the seeds of the Prunus dulcis (Almond tree) and they are native to the Middle East. Almonds are an amazing snack and have been proven to have many nutritional benefits like lowering blood sugar, lower blood pressure, and lower cholesterol. However, almonds also have many benefits for your skin. Almond oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is full of antioxidants. Ancient Chinese holistic medicine used almond oil to reduce the appearance of scars and to soothe the skin. It is also helpful in treating dry skin, improving acne, reducing sun damage, and reducing stretch marks.

Almond oil is often used by massage therapists because it has a very light texture and a mild scent. In addition to its skin benefitting properties, sweet almond oil is also great for hair. The l properties of almond oil help repair damaged hair and to promote hair growth. Applying almond oil directly to the scalp can also help reduce inflammation, reduce itchiness, and soothe an irritated scalp.

Almond oil is generally a safe product to use; however, if you are allergic to nuts, you should avoid using this product. Like we recommend with using any new skin product, conduct a small patch test before applying it to more sensitive areas. A patch test is when you take a small sample of oil and rub it in your arm to feel and see how it affects your skin. Those who have skin that is prone to acne should avoid applying almond oil directly to the face because it could block pores and cause breakouts.
